Ron grew up in a parsonage where his father served as pastor in Arlington, Oregon; Moscow, Idaho; and Nampa First Church in Nampa, Idaho. Later his father served as District Superintendent of the Northwest District.
Ron and Thelma met during their junior year of high school at College High, on the campus of NNU. They were married in August of 1959. The Kratzers have one daughter, Ronda, who resides in California with her husband, Scott, and their three children. They are currently serving as pastor in a church on the Sacramento District.
Ron graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in 1958 and from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1963. The Kratzers formerly served as pastors in Ritzville, Washington, and Baker City, Oregon, and served as District Superintendent of the Intermountain District for 14 years. Ron has served on the NNU Board of Regents for 31 years and was given an honorary doctorate degree in June of 1999.
The Kratzers are thrilled to be a part of the wonderful pastoral staff at Valley Shepherd and to be a part of an exciting, growing church.
