Dear Parents,

Greetings everyone! I am excited to announce that the Children’s Church service at Valley Shepherd (with the permission and help of the parents) is becoming organized and essentially lead by a new leadership team. Introducing…drum roll please… the Seeders Team.

Seeders= Sixth Grade Leaders. (not a real word, but that’s okay)

This team will consist of any children in 6th grade and will meet once a month after church for at most two hours. This team is NOT for all 6th graders. Any 6th graders that want to be on the team, can be with permission from their parents. If parents do not want thier child on this team, that is okay, but it is through this team that each child will be given the opportunity to let their voice be heard through discussion of what they want to learn in Children’s Church. Pastor Casey will meet with the team once each month to discuss different themes and ideas in Children’s Church that the 6th graders would like to learn more about (heaven, sin, creation, peer pressure, etc.). The 6th graders will be able to discuss what they want to learn but also have a say in how it is learned through object lessons, special effects, videos, science experiments, etc. They will have a say in what music they want to sing, what kind of games they play, what kind of crafts they do, whether or not they want to do a service project; all these things are different ideas that the Seeders Team might discuss and plan for each upcoming month.

Parents are more than welcome to stick around for the meeting and listen in on what they are discussing, however, if parents have other children and want to go get lunch, no big deal, Pastor Casey will be providing lunch for the members of the Seeders Team. We are excited about this new opportunity for our 6th graders and we think they will really benefit from it if they are dedicated to the Team.
