Pam’s son, Brandon,(not actual names but real story) continually broke his mother’s heart.  He bragged about his drug usage. He came home drunk and belligerent.  His mother started a prayer meeting for parents who , like herself, had loved ones who were unsaved.  Week after week she met with her friends and fellow church members.  Weeks passed into months.  Occasionally an encouraging word was shared in the prayer meeting.  Oftentimes the struggle seemed so great.

Did Brandon accept Christ?  Not as of the time of this writing.  Will he?  No one knows for sure.  But the likelihood is greatly increased because a mom is trusting God for her son and because other Christians are praying for him.

When I noted this story it reminded me of how important it is to continue to pray for family members who have not made peace with God.  No wonder Jesus prayed in His high-priestly prayer, “I PRAY ALSO FOR THOSE WHO WILL BELIEVE IN ME.” (John 17:20)

We must be vigilant in praying for family.  If there are needs in your family call some friends and start meeting for prayer.  Jesus is coming soon .  Prayer remains the key to power through the Holy Spirit.
